Homelessness is beyond dangerous, frightening and cold. The things we take for granted everyday are either expensive and time consuming or downright impossible, not to mention outright undignified. We aim to make some of this easier with our Shack Packs which will be filled with soap, shampoo, toiletries, warm gloves and socks, a gift card or two, a list of services in the area for those in need. These will be distributed as needed.
We are always accepting donations for several different projects
There are so many ways you can donate but if you aren't sure how just ask us!
Transitioning from the streets or a shelter to a new home is amazing in so many ways. It is also expensive to buy all of the things that save money and help stay clean. Coffee and tea made at home is less costly than bought at a convenience store, Our goal is to be able to give a transitioning family a leg up financially by giving them the essentials of moving into a new home. Think dishes, towels, broom and dust pan, trash can, toilet brush.
BACK TO SCHOOL
Although school starts in September, we will be collecting new or like new backpacks for children all year long as well as school supplies. Going into the 2016 school year The Ripple initiative distributed close to 70 backpacks to children in need in Knox County. Although we will be collecting all year long the real fun is in filling and delivering!
Free Coat Closet
The Ripple Initiative is collecting new and like new winter coats. In November we will open our Free Coat Closet to anyone, of any age in need of a great warm winter coat!
